23357 The Last Will and Testament of William Trego,
Date 1st Aug 1768 proved 16th Sept 1768
To each of my grandchildren now living 1shilling. To William McPherson and Phineas Eachus 1 shilling each.
To sons Joseph and William 5 shillings each. Remainder of personal estate to my daughters, Elizabeth and Mary Malin, Sarah Eachus and Ann Hunt. The share of Sarah to be at the disposal of my Executors and not subject to any demand of her husband. To son Benjamin after decease of my wife Margaret the plantation wheron I now dwell in Goshen containing 100 acres paying ?70 to 3 daughters, Elizabeth, Mary and Ann.
Executors: son Joseph Trego of Nantmeal and George Ashbridge Jr.
Witnesses; William Bane, Thomas Schofield, Aaron Hoopes.

The following taken from an Historical Account of the Trego Family 1884;
"William Trego, the son of Peter the elder, according to the Honeybrook family records, was born August 5th, 1693, married Margaret Moore, June 26th, 1717, and died 1770. The land in Honeybrook township, afterwards and yet owned by the Tregos, was first entered by John Moore, the father-in-law of William Trego, in March 1718, and in 1733, was conveyed to William Trego. This tract is described in the deed as 'joining on the west by lands of James Trego.' Now it has been already shown that in November of the same year, the old homestead of their father Peter, in Middletown, was conveyed by William Trego, then of Goshen, to James Trego of Concord. It would seem from this that neither William nor James resided at that time on their lands in Honeybrook.
Jared P. Irwin in his letter to Chas. B. Trego, written April 10th, 1848, says that William and Margaret Trego had ten children, four sons and six daughters... one of the sons died quite young...
William, Benjamin and Joseph, Hannah Hickman, Margaret McPherson, Elizabeth Malin, Mary Malin...Ann Hunt, and Sarah Eachus."
Trego, William (I3499)

23361 The Mill owners if East Rochester, New Hampshire, U.S.A sent recruitment men to the North of England to hire the best men to work in the Woolen Mill in East Rochester. One of the requirements of the employment was to attend either the Baptist or Methodist Church in East Rochester. In return the Mill Owners built rows of Mill Housing right along Front Street. Behind the houses were large areas for the residents to have gardens, Each house had a cold cellar for storing vegetables, and they made every effort to line Front Street with shade trees. Most of the Housing was built under the direction of Stephen Shory who was the head carpenter for the mill. The Mill also started a free library for it's workers and their families. The Mill prosperd in the Civil War makeing cloth for uniforms, but unfortunately for the Mill workers the Houses remained the property of the Mill, the rent was taken directly out of the workers wages, and if for some reason you lost your job, you also lost your home.
The Mill closed in the late 20th century and is now a ruin. Sadly the area has also become a slum area.

23364 The only clues to Richard's origins is his own statement on the 1851 census that he was born in Church Minshull, and according to his given age he was born circa 1791, plus a letter [A4/2] from John Eachus,[S05006] grandson of Richard Eachus, states that he had an uncle John Eachus who was much younger brother of Richard who worked for the Manchester Corporation. In fact this John was Richards Nephew, son of yet another John Eachus, [F07021] brother of Richard.
There was only one family in the Church Minshull area at that time, John and Ann Eachus and their family. Richard had a child baptised on the same day as John Eachus (1773-1835) [F07021] 13th Jan 1819 at Church Minshull, he was also the witness to the marriage of Samuel Williams and Catherine Tunicliffe., at Gt Budworth 16th Dec 1813. Samuel was the Brother of Martha Williams, Johns Wife. Richard and his sister Ann were also the witnesses to his Brother Peters Marriage at Middlewich Sept 18th 1814. From this we can make a safe assumption that Richard & John were brothers or cousins. Of course must remember that Richard's baptism has not been found.
The first mention of Richard is as a witness to the marriage of Samuel Williams & Catherine Tunicliffe at Gt Budworth 16th Dec 1813.
On the 11th May 1815 he married Mary Charlotte Tench at Manchester Cathedral "Richard Eachus, bachelor of this parish, draper, and Charlotte Tench of this parish were married by banns."

23380 Theo moved his family from Breaston in Derbyshire to Beeston in Nottinghamshire (a few miles to the east of Breaston) sometime between 1781 & 1788. The Occupations not known but the family were probably smallholders and Framework knitters.
at the baptism of the first two children Elizabeth & Theophilus the mother is given as Sarah on the IGI but not on the parish records. subsequent baptisms state Elizabeth. As Theo married Elizabeth in 1773 we can assulme that this is a mistake on the part of the IGI.

23381 Theo served as in the Derbyshire Militia untill the age of 27. Aged 73 he was found dead by his wife and there was an inquest.

Inquest Report (Nottingham Review 27 September 1850 - page 4)
On Monday last, an inquest was held at the White Lion Tavern, Beeston, before Mr C. Swann, Coroner, to ascertain the death of Theophilus Bucknall, aged 72, a Framework Knitter, residing in the same place. On Saturday last, deceased was engaged in making some repairs to his stocking frame. He ate a hearty dinner of meat and potatoes and his wife left him shortly afterwards to go to Nottingham Market. On her return however at six o'clock, she found him stretched lifeless on the floor. It seems that the deceased had been for the last three weeks under the care of Messrs. Orton & Butler, surgeons, for water on the chest, and the jury returned a verdict of "found dead from natural causes."
