Around 1908 Frederick placed several adverts in a N.S.W. newspaper in search of his long-lost Churchill Cousins. His cousin Martha replyed and they corresponded for a long time.
The Following is the text of Two Letters Frederick sent to his cousins Martha & Mary Ann in Australia;

I am writing to you for the first time as the dad is not great on writing & I generaly write his letters & conduct his correspondence He & I were so glad that you were pleased with the letter (almost a voice from the past was it not) We have often read & wonderd whether there were any members of the family alive in Australia & have advertised on more than one occasion but without sucess, untill at last we were fortunate to find you, we were extremely sorry to hear you had been unwell & as you say a family like yours is rather (as we have it in this country) a handfull but still I always believe that the back is fitted to the burden.
I think my dear cousin that I can see a parallel between your case & my own; you and your mother & my Father & I. Your Mother was left 22 years ago & you and her were all in all to each other. Now for my side of the parallel, I told you, or Father did that mother had been an invalid for years, the nature of her illness was I think even worse than drink. it was an affection of the brain & for 19 years this month she has ben in Chartham Asylum, Canterbury, Kent. She is sound & well in health & at times perfectly sane & rational but not to be trusted away from the Institution, so you see I being & only child, am pratically all Father has got & his life was none too happy untill I married & now we all live together & he is as happy as possible for us to make him.
I wish that we were not so far apart as I should like to see you & so would my wife, we have no children of our own and she say's you make up for us. I think you & her would get on well together she was 26 the 24th July & I was 25 the 11th April. I am sorry you could not give us the name of your Father's birthplace in Kent as it might be possible to trace him or his relatives.

Dear cousin May;
I am at last answering your letter of March of this year, I have been sadly neglectfull of you all, I dont believe I have written a single letter to Australia since last Xmas & so I am sure I am in bad disgrace with all, but I intend to alter all that with the coming year.
I am going to write Mattie every month & answer all letters from everyone else by return of post. Of course Mattie was my first & is my principal correspondent but I have treated her & you very shabbily in neglecting you so. but I shall turnover a new leaf now, How are yourself & George & the family, all well I hope. I am pleased to say that Dag & I & Fater are well, also Fathers brother Tom, another uncle of yours who is now living with me are all A1 & send their love to you all.
I am sending some P C's of Snodland for the kiddies as I dont remember sending them any before, I hope they will like them also a photo of our cottage with Dag & Father & I standing outside for yourself & a card from us all.
now dear cousin I must close be sure & write soon & let us know how you are all getting on.
