Mrs. Richard Townsend- Mrs. Townsend, widow of Captain Richard Townsend, died at the residence of her son-in-law, A. M. Eachus, on Price street, at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon after long illness with infirmities incident to old age. Her husband who was equally advanced in years as she, died in March last. Mrs. Townsend was about 78 years of age, and the mother of Davis Townsend, Thomas Townsend, Mrs. A.M. Eachus, Mrs. Robert Garrett, Philadelphia; Howard Townsend, Harrisburg, Ed Townsend, Philadelphia.

Yesterday afternoon the remains of Mrs. Captain Townsend were laid to rest in Greenmount Cemetery, beside her husband, who died in March. Services at the home of her son-in-law, Abner M. Eachus, 106 Price Street, were conducted by Rev. J. H. Chambers, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and the pall-bearers were Mrs. Townsend's four son's, Howard, of Harrisburg; Edward, of Philadelphia, and Thomas and Davis E., both of West Chester.
