- James Critchton Browne, M.D. LRGSEP. L.S.A. James was a leading British psychiatrist and medical psychologist. He is famouse for studies on the relationship of mental illness to brain injury, and for the development of Public Health polices in relation to mental health. and was involved with the following institutions; Royal Medical Society; West Riding Pauper Lunatic Asylum (1866 - 1875); Court of Chancery; Medico-Psychological Association; Royal Instiution; Royal Society.
He was one of Charles Darwins most significent correspondents and collaborators.
