  Samuel's father had Corn Mills in Newton & Bradley, and the family moved between the two. In his will he dequeath's to his trusted friend John Pickering of Bleakley in Kingsley, Cheshire, Farmer and his son John Grice of Kingsley [to whom he gives the title of Yeoman]. and their heirs. the two freehold Messuages or Dwelling houses with outbuildings , Gardens and appurtenances, and all the field or close of land adjoining the said dwelling houses situated in Kingsley aforesaid now in the occupation of James Grice and the said John Grice. [ archive copy of will in Family History/Wills] Samuel bought the Castle Hill Inn between 1807 &1810, when he moved the family to Castle Hill Census Listings: 1841 Castle Hill, Kingsley, Cheshire age 60.
