Notes |
- After the Death of her Step Sister Emma, Alice moved in with Emma's widowed Husband Edward. She is listed on census with him at Water Street, Bollington
1891 - 1911. During that time she had four illigitimate children, the father is certain to be Edward, and one one of the certificates Edward name is given under Father but then crossed out.
They were unable to marry as at the time it was not allowed for a widower to marry his late wife's sister. (or visa versa) This was changes in 1907 but they appeared not to have done so. Also before 1926 children born out of wedlock could not be re registerd as being legitimate after there parents marriage.
