  Note: Joseph Shrigley Married Eleanor Townson 17th February 1811 at St Mary, Lancaster. The Family lived at Overton about four miles from Lancaster, they had the following Children baptised at St Mary Lancaster: Elizabeth born 11 Jan 1813, bap 10 Feb 1813; Thomas born 18 dec 1814, bap 6 Feb 1815; James born 18 Dec 1817, bap 20 April 1818; Mary born 22 June 1819, bap 12 Aug 1819; Eleanor born 29 Sept 1821, Bap 21 Nov 1821. James born 22 Sept 1823, Bap 15 Jan 1824. John Alfred, born 1 Sept 1829, Bap 12 Dec 1829. Only Ann born 5 Aug 1811, bap 20 Oct 1811, is listed with Joseph & Sarah. is this a mistake, or did Sarah die, and Joseph re Marry? on the 1841 & 1851 census (B 28 & B 29) some of these children are with Ellen Shrigley, along with John Mackenzie grandson age 9 in 1851. Also Eleanor was listed as Ellen on the baptism of James, indicating that this is the name she used.
