    Cyril fought in WW1, with the rank of Captain. . and then after the war travelled in East Africa, then Columbo (Sri Lanka), he then lived most of his life in India. He came back from India and rejoined the Army as Captain for WW2. However the severe winter of 1939/40 affected him badly and he died in England of pneumonia. he saw no active service in WW2.
    Whilst in India he was emplyed as a mining engineer by the local Rajah who owned extensive mines. After he married Florence they went to live in Bangalore southern India. Florence didn't last very long in Bangalore, she became too frendly with the local indian workers, some of whom were of low cast, The Rajar instructed Cyril to send her home, and this he did.
