1. | Philip Dykins was born in 1807 in Holywell, Flintshire, Wales; died on 8 Aug 1891 in Pendre, Wales. Notes: Being raised on a farm, in daily contact with livestock, was often a precurser to a career as a butcher. This indeed was Philips first trade. For about eight years following the death of his father in 1834 he was practising his trade in Bryn Celyn on Greenfield street. His premises were within a few doors of his sisters Elizabeth Jones, Mary, and Brother John. His property was rented from the local squire, Sir Pyers Mostyn. It was made up of two parcels of land, a half-acre croft and a dwelling in a half-acre plot. Philip payed a tithe of 4 shillings and two pence (4/2) (21new pence) per annum.
