Notes:

John went into business as a carrier when he moved from Pickmere to Eccles.
When he died the business past to his son Fred Ward Sumner. He was killed in
1918 serving as a driver with the Royal Field Artillery, after the war his
widow Lily sold the business to Pickford's, a rivel company, and now one of
the biggest in the country. Now if she had only bought rather than
sold..........

Notes:

Frederick was killed in 1918 serving with the Royal Artillery in France.
He inherited the family business from his father, After he died his widow
Lily May Beartrice sold the business to a rival company Pickfords, now the
biggest in the country. Freds family were not amused.
