    Lucy was a hard working woman who deserved better that she got with her Husband Harry, She maid Bread and Muffins for people arounf Hollinwood, which her son delivered at dinnertime, when he came home from school.
    Lucy and her children were admitted to the Oldham Union Workhouse 4th Sept 1925, her son Ronald died in the Workhouse 7th August 1925. Lucy was discharged two years later on the 13th Aug 1927. From the workhouse the children were taken to scattered homes, one boy to Dogford Road, , two girls to Hollins, and one girl to Dr Garrett's Home in Conway because she had bandy legs. The children were all released back to Lucy on 29th June 1929. (1)
