    James died of heart diease and Rheumatic fever. He worked at Balls Printing shop in Eccles, and then with his dad at the Eccles CO-OP Butchers. When he died he left his wife with four children plus a daughter who was born a month after his death.

    In letter from James Atherton to Lisa Rayner April 2000 says George died of a heart attack whilst taking a beast to salford cattle market, one of his sons George was with him.
