    Notes:

The only clues to Richard's origins is his own statement on the 1851 census that he was born in Church Minshull, and according to his given age he was born circa 1791, plus a letter [A4/2] from John Eachus,[S05006] grandson of Richard Eachus, states that he had an uncle John Eachus who was much younger brother of Richard who worked for the Manchester Corporation. In fact this John was Richards Nephew, son of yet another John Eachus, [F07021] brother of Richard.
There was only one family in the Church Minshull area at that time, John and Ann Eachus and their family. Richard had a child baptised on the same day as John Eachus (1773-1835) [F07021] 13th Jan 1819 at Church Minshull, he was also the witness to the marriage of Samuel Williams and Catherine Tunicliffe., at Gt Budworth 16th Dec 1813. Samuel was the Brother of Martha Williams, Johns Wife. Richard and his sister Ann were also the witnesses to his Brother Peters Marriage at Middlewich Sept 18th 1814. From this we can make a safe assumption that Richard & John were brothers or cousins. Of course must remember that Richard's baptism has not been found.
The first mention of Richard is as a witness to the marriage of Samuel Williams & Catherine Tunicliffe at Gt Budworth 16th Dec 1813.
On the 11th May 1815 he married Mary Charlotte Tench at Manchester Cathedral "Richard Eachus, bachelor of this parish, draper, and Charlotte Tench of this parish were married by banns."
