There must remain some doubt as to the mother of William, His Fathers first wife Charlotte died in 1872, in Gloucestershire, and his father did not re-marry untill 1980 in Wigan Lancashire. William Charles's birth in given as Wigan on the 1881 census age 3, but as Gloucestershire on all other census. as he was born 2 years before his fathers marriage in Wigan, and we do not know where his father was living at that time, a question mark must be shown.
