joseph served in the first world war, and he had a brother named Warren.
Notes on his life from His Great Granddaughter, Shiela Turley state: he was a House Painter and also an Artist, he painted murals, frescoes and Landscapes with the occasional Portrait. He loved animals especially cats and also had some trained Parakeets that would dance and do tricks. He was always a kind person and kept a bowl of Lemon drops , to share with any children that came visiting. He went out on a snowy knight to find his cat and slipped on the outside stairs and broke his hip, it did not heal properly and he was permanently confined to bed. being in bed so much led to pneumonia which in turn led to his death.
