Laura Etta Sawyer Reck was born in Broken Bow, Nebraska, September 25, 1882 and departed this life in Cambridge, Nebraska December 31, 1932. She was converted and united with the Free Methodist Church early in life and served the Lord faithfully to the end.
She married James Gaston Eachus in 1903, and to this union were born five sons and one daughter. Mr Eachus died March 18, 1919.
On April 23, 1920, she married Rev. David Reck and assisted him in his pastoral duties.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved to attend the church of her choice. Her testimony was clear, and was well known for her stand for principles and righteousness. Her constant prayer was for the salvation of her children and for the work of God. Her shout for victory will no more be heard on Earth. Another faithful and loyal pilgrim has answered the Master's call and has entered into rest.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband Rev. David Reck; her father Walter Sawyer; five sons, Atwell, Paul, Leo, Merle, and Halley; daughter, Mrs Oscar Morris; six stepchildren, Mrs E. W. Elkins; Mahlon; Clarence; Lean; Ruth and David; five grandchildren; besides a host of relatives and friends.
