    Notes:

Jan was a merchant operating under the name "J Wentzl" he later opened a resturaunt in the Rynek Glowny [great square] of Krakow following his marriege to Maryanna Haller [1796-1880] daughter of Balcer Haller, a wealthy merchant, descended from Johann Haller [1463-1525] a wealthy merchant and one of the first commercial printers in Poland. Jan recieved from the Haller family the Mansion at 19 Rynek Glowny, into the ground floor of which he opend his restaurant under the name Restauracja Pod Obrazem [the restaurant beneath the Painting, with the family living above. This restaurant became on of the best known in Krakow. The mansion at 19 Rynek Glowny and it's busuness affairs including the restaurant were passed down from Jan through his son Konrad Wentzl [1820-1897] who married Jozefa Breska [1833-1901] via Konrad's sons Ignacy Wendle [1866-1926 & Maciej Wentzl [1870=1932] to thier sister Anna Wentzl who married Franciczek Laskowski, but without issue.
Under the Testament of Anna [Wentzl] Laskoeski established The Family Foundation of the Wentzl Family [Polish: Fundacja Familijna Rodziny Wentzlow] bequeathing the mansion at Rynek Glowny and the business of J Wentzl to the family foundation. The Testament expressly required that the house be held by the Family Foundation permanently and that under no circumstances should be sold. The object of the Foundation was to use it's income to provide material benifits to the descendants of Anna's cousin, Maria Waleria Wentzlow Moczarska [1854-1937] and her husband Ludwick Moczarska, to the descendabts of Mr Jozef Rostafinski and to the descendants of Mr Josef Stummer, In each case untill the line is fully extinct. In the event of extinction of the families entitled to recieve benefits, Anna directed that the income of the family foundation should be used for the assistance of older ladies of Romas Catholic religion, from good families, who find themselves in straitened financial circumstances. Provision was also made for the maintenance of the house.
Due to the intervention of World War ll, Post War Soviet Occupation and the Communism and the consequent polital and legal environment in Poland, The Family Foundation of the Wentzl Family and it's ownership of the Mansion was not formally confirmed by the Polish Courts untill 16 October 1988.. At the time of writing the Mansion is operating as a Hotel, Restauraunt and Cafeteria under the name of Wentzl.
In 1935 Anna Wentzl Laskowska and Franciszel Laskoeski endowed the National Museum in Krakow, with the large legacy of Anna's brother Maciej Wentzl, which included glassware, ceramics, jewelry, timepieces and snuffboxes.
