    Falsehood: A newspaper report stating that Edward had married Miss Polly Darton of Darlington at Darlington on Sat 6th May 1797, was retracted in the next issue saying it was a false report, it was also stated that the name of the person giving the information to the printing office had been forwarded to all persons involved.
    Edward lived at Bondgate Darlington, and in 1820 was living at Tubwell Row, Darlington, he was a plumber & Glazier but in 1828 was described as a Gentleman.
    He was the first person to introduce gas into Darlington 1817/1818.
