Notes

Note 		Known as Nan, Frances Mary attended Bridge Street Seventh Standard School and upon leaving took the Civil Service examination for Telegraphista, passing highly placed. She had to leave her job when she married Robert Eachus in 1914. After the start of WW1 Nan re-joined the Civil Service and one of her jobs was interviewing people qualifying for the newly-established Old age Pension. Nan was very much into spiritualism and the occult She claimed that when she lived in Windsor Terrace in the grounds of the Birmingham Oratory she, on more than one occasion, met the ghost of Cardinal Newman.
